Dangerous characteristic of T-Butyl acetate

Flammable, its vapor and air can form an explosive mixture. In case of open fire, high heat energy causes combustion explosion. It reacts strongly with an oxidizer. Its steam is heavier than air, can diffuse to a considerable distance at a lower level, and will lead back to combustion in the presence of an open fire.

Combustion (decomposition) products: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide. 

Emergency treatment for leakage of tert-butyl ester

Quickly evacuate people from the spill area to the safety zone and isolate them to strictly restrict access. Cut off the fire. Emergency personnel are advised to wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and fire protective clothing. Cut off leakage source as much as possible to prevent access to restricted Spaces such as sewers and drain channels.

Small leakage: adsorption or absorption by sand or other noncombustible materials. Also can be made with non-combustible dispersant emulsion brush, wash liquid diluted into the waste water system.

Packing and storage of Tert-Butyl Acetate:
200L (170kgs) plastic pail net or instructed by the customer. Keep in a tightly closed container, stored in a cool, dry, ventilated warehouse. Stay away from fire and heat. Library temperature should not be more than 37 ℃. Keep the container sealed. Should be stored separately with oxidant, acid, alkali, do not mix storage. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation are adopted. Prohibit the use of spark-prone mechanical equipment and tools. The storage area should be equipped with emergency leakage treatment equipment and appropriate shelter materials.

At least 2 years when stored in sealed packing under above mentioned conditions.
